Dr. Groh has been a board certified athletic trainer since 1991. She earned her BA in Sports Medicine from University of the Pacific, her MS in athletic training from the University of Oregon, and her EdD in Kinesiology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Her research interests are in the use of standardized patients in athletic training clinical education. Her teaching expertise is in sports nutrition, general medical conditions, and therapeutic exercise.
