Caring People

High Point University is committed to building character, modeling values, and ensuring that students graduate with not only the expertise in their discipline, but also with the skills necessary to be successful in life.

HPU’s environment of excellence empowers students by creating a strong sense of self and community.  With 76 percent of students coming from out-of-state and 93 percent living on-campus all four years, the student body has a distinct sense of family.

Students also become part of the global community and willingly give back. Each year, HPU students, faculty, and staff invest more than 50,000 hours volunteering and raise a significant amount of funds, all in the name of service and generosity.

High Point students agree to live by an honor code that is self-enforced by a Student Honor Court. The heart of the university’s code of conduct is a commitment to excellence, the creation of an environment of dignity and respect for all, social responsibility, and personal accountability.

High Point University is among 100 schools in the U.S. listed on The John Templeton Foundation Honor Roll of Colleges that Encourage Character Development. We promote the development of values in the classroom and on campus. Ethics is a consideration in every part of the curriculum. All students must successfully complete at least one course in both ethics and religion.
